Fractora

Fractora is an innovative skin tightening treatment that can help treat the signs of aging, such as wrinkles, folds, hollow areas, and sagging skin. A highly advanced anti-aging treatment, Fractora uses radiofrequency energy that produces localized heat to help promote younger-looking skin. At Sutton Place Dermatology, we are proud to offer Fractora in NYC to treat the signs of aging.

What is Fractora?

Fractora is a state-of-the-art anti-aging treatment that uses localized heat and radiofrequency energy to promote collagen restructuring. The Fractora device delivers radiofrequency energy through a collection of small pins that produce localized heat through micropunctures in the skin. These micropunctures promote collagen production and help correct loose or sagging skin. The Fractora pins provide mild heat to the subdermal tissues, which, in turn, causes tightening of the skin and a more youthful-looking facial appearance. Fractora may be used to treat sagging jowls, deep wrinkles, facial folds, skin discoloration, and acne scars. In most cases, treatment areas typically include the cheeks, neck, forehead, eyes, and around the mouth.

The benefits of Fractora include:

  • Noninvasive
  • Little to no downtime
  • Long-lasting
  • Virtually painless
  • Younger-looking results
  • Versatile treatment
  • Improves skin elasticity
  • Promotes collagen production

What should I expect during a Fractora treatment?

At Sutton Place Dermatology, Fractora is performed on an outpatient basis, which means that the patient is able to return home immediately following a skin tightening treatment. To begin a facial rejuvenation treatment with Fractora, our dermatologists will first apply an anesthetic to the treatment areas. As the hand-held Fractora device is applied to the treatment areas, our dermatologists will gently stretch the skin to ensure even coverage of the Fractora pins. The duration of a Fractora skin tightening treatment will vary from patient to patient. The overall procedure time depends on how many areas of the face and neck a patient would like treated with Fractora.

What should I expect after a Fractora treatment?

Following a Fractora treatment, you may experience moderate redness, slight irritation, or minor bruising of the treatment areas. Shortly after your Fractora treatment, any redness or inflammation will quickly subside. While patients may see results immediately following Fractora, the complete results are not fully seen until five to six weeks after the initial treatment. For most patients, there is little to no downtime associated with Fractora. In most cases, patients are able to return to work the following day after undergoing Fractora. Any specific post-treatment instructions will be explained by our dermatologists following a Fractora skin tightening treatment.

Who is a candidate for Fractora?

Ideal Fractora candidates are healthy men or women with realistic expectations who are looking to treat the signs of aging, such as brow furrows, frown lines, hollow undereyes, sagging jowls, and wrinkles. Additionally, Fractora may be ideal for patients looking to target skin discoloration, acne scarring, or other cosmetic blemishes. During a Fractora consultation, our dermatologists will review your medical history and current health to ensure that you are an ideal candidate for Fractora.
